At Zima Homes, sustainability is at the heart of our mission to provide affordable and environmentally conscious housing solutions. Recently, our founder, Etta Madete, had the privilege of being a panellist at two prestigious events focused on green building and architecture, where she shared her expertise and vision for the future of sustainable housing in Kenya.
Kenya Green Building Society Conference
As a panelist at the Kenya Green Building Society (KGBS) event, Etta Madete highlighted the critical importance of integrating sustainable practices into housing developments. During her talk, Etta emphasized the need for innovative approaches to energy efficiency and waste management in residential buildings, particularly in the affordable housing sector. She noted that “affordability and sustainability can no longer be mutually exclusive—it’s time to prioritize green solutions that benefit both residents and the environment.”
Zima Homes remains committed to meeting the highest standards of sustainability by incorporating environmentally friendly materials, optimizing energy use, and ensuring water conservation across all of our housing projects.
Architectural Association of Kenya (AAK)
At the Architectural Association of Kenya (AAK) event, Etta once again shared her insights on sustainable development. As one of the prominent voices on the panel, she discussed the role of architects and developers in promoting gender inclusion and sustainability in real estate. Etta reiterated the importance of creating spaces that are not only functional but also sustainable, aligning with the core values of Zima Homes.
Her participation in these events underscores our commitment to fostering a greener future for housing in Kenya. As we move forward, we aim to be at the forefront of developing housing solutions that are not only affordable but also mindful of the environmental impact they leave behind.
Stay tuned as we continue to work towards building homes that make a positive difference for communities and the planet.
